Answer

XXXXXX,

HIV is spread by having sex with an infected partner- it can enter the body through the vagina, vulva, penis, rectum, or mouth during sex- through contact with infected blood, by sharing needles or syringes, during pregnancy or birth, and having an STD. It can be spread via blood, semen, or vaginal fluids. Using a condom is the most effective way of prevention. Without condom use, the chance of acquiring it with vaginal/penile intercourse is 10 in 10,000. You can see a chart at this link which gives risk according to what type of exposure
http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/rr5402a1.htm#tab1
A condom greatly lessens your chances, but it is not 100% effective.
