hi,
A peg shaped lateral incisor can be restored to a proper shape by getting a cap on it.
Since your tooth is peg shaped ,there is not much of tooth reduction that has to performed.Your dentist would just prepare a finish line by slightly grinding down your tooth.Once an adequate shape has been acheived, your dentist would then take your impressions. The replicated models of your teeth would then be sent to a laboratory where the cap/veneer would be fabricated.Your dentist would properly select the shade of your tooth so that the end product would be as natural as possible.
The prepared cap/veneer would then be placed on to the prepared tooth and fitted in position by using certain cements/adhesives.
The cap fabrication would take a few days time during which your dentist would probably place a temporary cap on the prepared tooth.
Hope this answers your questions...
please let me know,if you would like to know more about this...
