Hello XXXXX,

Welcome to Just Answer.

I'm guessing that you may have loosened some particles while instaling new faucet, which in turn has clogged your faucet aerator. Here is how to clean it.

  • Unscrew the aerator from the end of the spout.
  • Disassemble and set the parts aside in order. Clean the screen and disc with a brush and soapy water.
  • Use a pin or toothpick to open any clogged holes in the disc.
  • Flush all the parts with water before putting them back together.

If this does not help, let me know and we can look at some other solutions.

If you need further help or clarification on this question, please reply to this post.

Best of Luck, Brian

Reply to Brian's Post: IT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT THE AERATORS.THERE IS A MAIN FAUCET AND A PRERINSE,WATER IS NOT COMING FROM EITHER LOCATION.

Some further questions to help narrow it down:

Is the main and the prerinse supplied by the same pipe?

If so, there is still the chance that sediment sitting in the pipe could have loosened and blocked both.

Was there any soldering involved? Sometimes if the joints/ valves are over soldered, the excess solder can block either one.

Is the hot and cold water not flowing?

Answer

O.K. do not worry; I'm going to get you through this.

It is still possible that some deposits have broken free and have plugged the faucet. The passage galleys of most faucets are actually very small. I would pull the cartridge out and check it.....it may be clogged. Turn water on without the cartridge to clear the supply lines. This will also tell you right away, it the cartridge is the culprit, since you will have water flowing at this point.

brian, sorry i had to take off..we shut off the main water and that valve is located overhead in my office, water started dripping close to the computer.the obstruction was a collapsed thin rubber like item located just where the shutoff for the faucet meets the supply line..thanks,will be using just answer in the future..what a good idea
