Reply to The Home Smithy's Post: I have a kenmore elite ( calypso ).Model# 22082102, Serial # cm3002214 The washer will not pump the water out. It was first giving a code ( OB )for off balance,I reajusted the cloths and that did not help. Now it gives a code ( LD )long drain. I shortend the drain,that did not help, The book says that LD code comes up if it takes more than 5 mins. to drain. I put a new pump and pump moter on it today and i still get the same code ( LD )Do you have any other suggestions. I will be glad to pay if your answer is correct.
Thank you
Larry

Answer

Larry;

The LD indication tells me that the water that the pump is trying to pump out of the unit is being restricted, and/or the pumps impeller has been damaged.

What you need to do is empty out what water you can, and then tip the unit on its back. Remove the panel from the bottom of the unit and disconnect the hoses going to the pump. Clear any obstructions you may find. If obstructions are found then reassemble unit and test.

If none are found check condition of the impeller. If ok the only other thing is a stuck check ball in the tub drain assembly.

I have uploaded the repair manual for this unit here.

Save the file to your hard drive and open it with a .pdf reader. I recommend FoxIt reader. (foxit.com) Its smaller than adobe and no spyware.
