Question

I have a 94 GMC 3500 in a box truck purchased from U-Haul with an intermittent heavy current draw when the head lights are on. If I disconnect a relay on the drivers side of the fire wall, the problem goes away and the head lights stay on and vehicle shows no sign of any faultering. This relay cycles at a random rate of somewhere between 5 and 10 seconds. The relay has a 3 wire connector, two of which are rather large red wires. Can anyone tell me what this relay is used for and what may be causing the problem. Thank you for your help. George
