Question
We have adopted a stray cat. She was very malnourished when we found her, two weeks later she had 4 kittens. Two of which were born with crooked tails. They appear otherwise healthy. What caused the crooked tails?

Answer
Some kittens are born with kinked tails due to a development problem in the womb. Usually there is nothing to be concerned with, unless the tail prohibits proper defecation or urination (I have seen this only once). It's fairly common in Siamese cats, so perhaps there's a possibility that they have some relation down the line. I hope this helps, best of luck to you and your cutie pie kittens!
