Question

I am a vet tech and I gave my cat two vaccines. One 2nd distempter and the other 1 yr rabies both were given SQ between the shoulder blades. Now he has a lump there that seems to be growing a bit. Is this anything to worry about Shots were given about 3 wks go. Thanks

Hi rpharley:

This is not really uncommon to happen after vaccinations and is referred to as a vaccination sarcoma. Normally it resolves itself after a few to several weeks so do keep an eye on it. If it gets larger than a grape size, it should be checked out by your veterinarian. You can read all about these below:
