Hi There!
Thanks for Choosing Just Answer.
This could be caused by a blackish residue buildup within the throttle plate area of the air intake. Using a suitable aerosol cleaner , clean both sides of the throttle plate as well as the surrounding area of this blackish residue and see if this resolves your problem. I would also change the fuel filter, and if it continues have the fuel pump pressure verified.

HI again,
The blackish residue is just deposit that has built up over time.
A tuneup/injector cleaner mixed with gasoline (1:4 or 1:5 ratio) should be safe.Start by cleaning the exterior of the throttle plate, and then hold it open using a wire tied to the throttle linkage so you can clean the inside perimeter of the plate. All you're trying to do with brushing is to loosen all the deposits. I would start with this and see if it makes a difference.
