Hi Shawn, Super mechanic here. I just have a couple of questions about your car.
Are the RPM's actually going to 3000 or is it just the tach?
Does the car run ok otherwise?
Are there any trouble codes?
Hi, me again. You might have an idle air control valve that is getting stuck opened. If you don't see any real big vacuum leaks, like the power brake booster hose or anything like that, then you can try cleaning the throttle body real good. You might want to take the valve out and see if it is actually moving when the PCM is commanding it to. Just block the hole maybe with your finger so that the engine won't rev too high.
Sometimes they get lazy and cleaning them may help, otherwise you would have to replace it. Thanks
