Hello,
Lymphoid hyperplasia is a response of the lymph nodes an antigen like infection or inflammation. It can occur with a multitude of illnesses, like with tick borne illnesses for example. Dianostics for the reason behind the infection/inflammation should be done, and treatment then should be chosen according to results.
If the dog does not respond and the lymph nodes remain swollen, an entire lymph node should be removed and submitted to a pathologist.
Sometimes the dianosis is lymphoma, but when the disease has just started, an aspirate or small biopsy returns this diagnosis. If lymphoma ends up being the diagnosis, chemotherapy should be started.
Hope this helps, and best withes to you and your dog.
