Answer

This might be a tumor or a tooth abscess. She's a little old for this to be likely to be a viral wart as usually dogs are exposed to and become immune to those as young adults.
When you see a new spot like this, a growth, lump, or a sore that lingers its usually best to get an in person vet evaluation of the area. It might be 'nothing' but if it does happen to be something that needs to be removed then getting it taken care of while it is as small as possible is usually the best option.
Hope this helps you!

Answer

This might be a benign tumor but it could be something else that needs removal too.

It doesn't have to be painful to be a problem.

Thats why you need an in person look at it.
Always the best choice particularly with a senior dog.
