i have a saturn 96 sl2. had it scanned and code p0300 came up. i just put new engine in the car. how do i fix this problem.

Don't have a fit just yet. po300 is a random misfire code usually suggesting a good tune up. For now I would clear the code and drive for a while and see if it sets again. If it does I will be here to help. Hopefully you put new plugs in the new engine and new plug wires. Please read the following. Hope I've been helpful. hey mons,i did clear the code and it came back. we did use the old plugs from the old engine. (they were only a week old,as are the wires) does this amtter?

Hi Fit being the wires and plugs were only a week old doesn't matter. that should be ok I will do a bit more research and get back to you cause it is late and I am tired. I WILL be in touch. Mons

Hi Fit, Here are the two diagnostic charts taht go with the PO300 code. Hope they help you out. Saturns also had problems with their EGR valves Sticking sometimes to the point of stalling the engine. Cleaning helps for a while but replacing does the trick.
