Answer

Hi again Stump, I am really mad at myself now because I had a car that did the same exact thing but it was many many years ago. I thought it happened when I was below a quarter of a tank and the guage was wrong and on turns the pump would't pick up the fuel from the tank. So the guage itself, check all of the fuel lines if any or all are dryrot and a crack opens up due to body shift it would interupt the flow of fuel. All lines from tank forward. Also check all electrical connectors that could interupt spark and just for the heck of it get a jumper cable and attach it to a good ground on the body and then to the engine and drive like that for a while and see what happens. Also make sure no motor mounts are broken which could cause the engine to shift possibly loosing a ground or spreading a cracked fuel line. A cracked line usually leaves a tell tale CLEAN spot where it dumps fuel. Please read the following. Hope I've been helpful.
