Reply to Edward's Post: The line is barely visible with bright pictures and is not that bad anytime else but is noticeble to me. The model # is westinghouse 27" lcdtv LTV-27W2. I have not tried to fix as of yet only tried resetting the tv. I have had it for about 2 years.I do have some basic knowledge of how lcd tv works. I do have a couple of electronic meters and lots of tools. Thanks

Very likely the TV has what is called a cold solder joint. This is very common in LCD screens. The repair is both difficult and expensive. I would not recommend it as a DIY repair since the possibilities of making the problem worse is a very good possibility. Even for the trained electronic tech the repair can be difficult. Do a Google search for "lcd cold solder Westinghouse" and you will see this is a common problem. Do the same search with the word Westinghouse and you will see this is a very common problem for all LCD TV sets. You might try resetting the TV by unplugging it for an hour or so, or jarring the TV to see if that helps but other than that expect to pay several hundred dollars to get it working correctly by a repair shop. My recommendations would be to try the reset and adjusting the convergence and if none of that helps, use the TV as long as you can stand the problem and then try to re solder the bad solder connections on the LCD screen but be prepared to replace the TV.

Should you require further clarification, never hesitate to ask. It would be my pleasure to clarify my answer to your question. If after reviewing the above information, you have additional questions, I will be glad to answer them. My goal is your 100% satisfaction with all questions I answer.
