Hi,
Yes, cats can most definitely get giardia, and symptoms would be diarrhea, sometimes foul-smelling and tan in color.

If you suspect your cat has giardia, and/or he has diarrhea which is not clearing up, it would be a good idea to bring him to the vet for evaluation and bring a fresh fecal sample for analysis, with you.
Once the problem is diagnosed, he'll be treated with the most appropriate medication.
