Answer

Hello,

Since your horse is losing hair on his legs AND has gone lame, you need to have a vet out. In the meantime, you should avoid putting anything on his legs. He may have some skin problem on his legs and antiseptic ointment may make it worse. You need to wait until a vet can examine him in person to determine what is wrong so you can be sure the treatment will help rather than hurt.
