Printer has been sitting since februrary... just changed all

printer has been sitting since februrary... just changed all of the cartridges... ran print head alignment, ran clean heads many times... black will not print??
JA: What is the exact make and model of your printer? And what kind of cartridges are you using?
Customer: epson xp 420 , using xl 420 cartridges
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: dell inspiron... windows 10
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: dont really know.. it is my daughters.. said it worked fine before not using for last 11 months... we live in Colorado.. very dry and ink tends to dry out. it appears black head is clogged and not printing anything
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: is there any way to clean the dried ink out of the print head?

Hi there and welcome
Can you remove the ink from the printer then power it off.
then using a Q-Tip with cleaning alcohol (or warm water if you do not have any), clean out the areas where the ink goes in.
Then use a damp cloth and wipe down the inside of the printer.
Once done, let it dry for 10 minutes
Then put the ink back in, power it on and tell me if it then prints correctly please
