I have a MFC-7460DN that i have changed the toner and drum,

I have a MFC-7460DN that i have changed the toner and drum, but it only prints faintly.
JA: What's the make/model number of your printer? How old is it?
Customer: Brother MFC-7460DN
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: pc, windows 7 pro
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: we just switched the toner cartridge
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: i switched the toner twice, same issue.

Does the problem occur only when printing, or when copying, or both?

If you print a test page from the printer's menu does it come out ok?

If this problem still occurs after changing the toner and drum, then the problem could be due to a low ink/toner density setting or economy mode setting.

If that doesn't work, could you attach a scanned copy of a faintly printed page here so I may see?

Did this issue exist before the drum was changed?

This looks very like there is a problem with the transfer roller as very little toner is getting deposited.

The transfer roller uses an electrical charge to get the toner from the cartridge’s drum unit onto the page.

Sometimes, it may be incorrectly positioned in your printer, causing very faint prints.

Try to remove it and insert it firmly again. When properly inserted, it should be nice and flat.

(If you’re having trouble removing it, be sure not to break or rip it out!)

Do not touch the surface of the transfer roller with your hands as this will make the problem even worse.

You can try wiping the surface with a dry cloth or use a can of compressed air to blow it clean.
