I'm trying to get my HP Deskjet 3052A All-in-one J611 series

I'm trying to get my HP Deskjet 3052A All-in-one J611 series to scan on my Mac, but I am getting the following: Software for this device is not installed
Scanning software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software.
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your Deskjet is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: 3 years old. 3052A All-in-one J611
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: Mac OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.5
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: This is the first I have tried with Mac. The printer/scanner was previously use with my PC.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?

there is a whole page on how to install the printer using the mac drivers

but if it prints already you may just need the scanning software

try installing this program

if that still won't scan we can go back to trying to install the scanner section of the printer

does it show up under scanners in the apple / preferences / printers and scanners ?

can you find it using the + button on the bottom.

if it does the above hp easy scan software should work

but it seems like it is already mostly installed. I am not sure where you are getting the error message from. But there might be other programs that will do the scanning as i is.

I have the iTunes app already install, but it does not recognize the scanner. It is not even an option to choose. It shows up under scanners in the apple / preferences / printers and scanners. When I go to open scanner I get the original error message I mentioned.

I ran through the HP guides with no luck. That is why I am searching elsewhere now.

try deleting it from the scanner section and putting it back in
