Do you use a USB cable or Wireless network to connect the printer to the PC?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
USB cable

Thanks, ***** ***** the steps below and let me know, how it goes for you.

Click on Start (windows logo at the left bottom of the screen)

Click on Devices and Printers.

Devices and Printers window will open.

Look for the printer icon. If you do not see a check mark on the icon then, right-click on it and select Set As Default printer.

If you see the check mark on it then, follow the steps below.

Right-click on it and select remote device, the printer icon will disappear from the window.

Now, remove the USB cable of the printer from the PC.

Wait for few secs. and reconnect the cable.

The printer icon should reappear on the Devices and Printer window again, with a check mark on it.

If the icon does not reappear after few mins, the USB cable can be defective.

The icon does reappear but still says "driver is unavailable"

Do you see this on the Status of the printer?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
It's listed right next to printer icon in grey. I don't see notation of status

Do you see multiple Canon printer icon?

Customer: replied 5 months ago.
No. I have windows fax, Microsoft print, Microsoft document writer and send to one note 2013

Ok, now right click on the printer icon once more and remove the device and when the icon disappears, disconnect the printer's USB cable. After that, download the latest drivers from the link below and reinstall the printer, do not connect the printer, unless the installation process asks you to do that.
