I got a new printer and was 3/4ths of the way thru and found

I got a new printer and was 3/4ths of the way thru and found out it was not wireless. I took the disc out and returned it to Walmart, but there was not a Canon pixa wireless so I got another brand. There is a message stuck on the desk top that says please insert disc or it says complete the installation. The message will not go away and it blocks my desktop. I uninstalled it, but the message is still there. How can I remove the message, please.
JA: Has your Canon done this before? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: This was a new canon white printer. Christmas gift.
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: Ok Dell, PC,intel, 3-4 years old.
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: I was installing the printer disc and I stopped 3/4ths of the way thru when I saw that it was not wireless. it tells me to put the disc in, but I returned the printer to the store.
