I keep getting error OxF1?
JA: What's the make/model number of your printer? How old is it?
Customer: WF2630 3-4 yrs old
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC Toshiba laptop
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: at least a month. trouble installing cartridges, a little.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no, just the printer may be backed up with many req.

Hello and welcome to justanswer. My name is***** will be assisting you today. I am sorry to hear that you are having such trouble.

0XF1 is a hardware error which means that the print head is stuck or not moving on the carriage rail (steel rod) .

You can try these steps:

  • Open the cover
  • Remove the cartridges
  • Unplug the power cable
  • Move the carriage head (cartridge carrier ) left to right manually
  • Check if there is anything inside blocking the carriage head to move back and forth like small dirt or jammed piece of paper.

I removed cartridges, unplugged power cable(first) slid carriage back and forth, saw nothing, used some canned air to make sure no dust particles.

Have tried printing, no more error but no printing on pages either

No the color cartridges are about 2 mo. old and black might need changing but havent seen any messages stating ink was low.

Tried color print and I bet I do need new cartridges! very faint. I bet with new cartridges my problem will be solved.

Please do the follwing

You can clean the print head using the control panel on your product.

1. Load a few sheets of plain paper in the product.

2. Press the up or down arrow button, select Setup, and press the OK button

3. Select Maintenance and press the OK button.

4. Press the up or down arrow buttons, select Print Head Cleaning, and press the OK button.

5. Press one of the Start buttons to start the cleaning cycle.

The

power light flashes throughout the cleaning cycle and stays on when the cleaning cycle is

finished.

Caution: Never turn off the product during a cleaning cycle or you may damage it.

6. Press the OK button to run a nozzle check to confirm that the print head is clean.

If you don't see any improvement after cleaning the print head up to 4 times, leave the product turned on

and wait at least 6 hours. Then try cleaning the print head again. If quality still does not improve, one of

the ink cartridges may be old or damaged and needs to be replaced.
