Canon Pixma 3500 printer cartridge head door will not open,

Customer Question

Canon Pixma 3500 printer cartridge head door will not open
JA: Has your Canon done this before? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: No. Less than 1 yr old. a gift from daughter. Removed color cartridge and replaced it until I can access new one. I know I shouldn't have taken it out. I know know printer will not run on one cartridge. That is why I put used one back in.
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: Apple MacBook about 7 yrs old from granddaughter....lap top
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Happened about 1 wk ago. Happened when I put used cartridge back into machine because I didn't have new one. Black ink still half full
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Yes...please communicate only by computer or email (*****@******.***). I am hearing impaired and not too computer savy

Hi,
After my 2nd response, an automatic "Premium Service" offer will be made. Please disregard it, and we will communicate only in this 'chat' area.

I need you to confirm the model of the printer, you said it's a "Cannon Pixma 3500", is it the Pixma iP3500?

Thanks,

Bob
