Just put new ink cartridges in my canon pixma printer and I'm getting the error on screen wrong printer head install correct printer head
JA: Has your Canon done this before? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: No. about 4-5 years old hasn't being used in over 12 months
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: Using it to scan so not connected to a com
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Only done it since replacing ink cartridges like 5 mins ago

What is the full model number of your Canon printer, such as an Mx922 or Mg5320 ?

Also, the cartridges you put in, were they also a year old? Or were they brand new canon cartridges that you just purchased?

Your best bet, is to remove the printhead and clean the contacts on it.. Almost certainly what happened is that the ink inside the printhead dried up after sitting for a year. So you need to try and flush it out..

Do the best you can to clean that printhead, as the cost to replace the printhead is steep.
