I see you mentioned that the printer "shows that its on your home network". Do you happen to have the IP address of your printer? If not no worries, if you follow the steps below we can obtain your printers IP address. Once we obtain the IP, we can try and add the printer to your mac manually. From the printer's LCD menu please try the following:
Press the home button, if necessary.
Scroll down and select Print Status Sheet.
Press the start button to print the network status sheet.
