i need to change the cartridges but can't seem to release the cartridge holder
JA: What's the make/model number of your printer? How old is it?
Customer: less than one year old Epson XP 220
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC Windows 10
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: i had a message saying the cartridges were running low

To successfully replace the ink cartridge, you first need to press the red cancel button. It is the last button on the printer that looks like a triangle in a circle. After that, press and hold that button again and hold it for 6 seconds. The cartridge holder should then be released and prepared for ink cartridge replacement.

Can you just tell me how to release cartridge from holder?

To release the cartridge, you need to press the top part of a cartridge and then just pull it out. Here is a picture and a video showing how to do it:



The cartridge removal and replacement is the same for all printer models.
