I have just bought and plugged in the XP-330 Small-in-One

Customer Question

I have just bought and plugged in the XP-330 Small-in-One printer according to the Start Here instructions (didn't plug the USB cord to computer), pushed the power button and got a rasping noise and message Printer Error (E-01?). No instructions on what to do about it in the Guide. What to do? Thanks. (Lawrence)
JA: What's the make and model of your printer, and can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Epson XP 330/XP--brand new, just out of box and wrappers
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC, Windows 7--but the printer is not yet hooked to computer as per instructions on the Start Here sheet #2. I haven\n't run the software disc on the computer yet either.
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: This is the first time I turned on the printer--not used before-new yesterday.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: No.

Hi, I can help with the issue.

Expert:  WesPCDr replied 15 days ago.

There are 2 possible issues.

1. Ensure you remove all packing materials and tape from inside the printer. Remove any covers and look inside for tape or cardboard.

2. The printer is defective. In this case, return it to the store for a full refund and replacement.

I am set up and the printer is working. I need no further assistance and do not need a security connection. Thank you.
