My HP 4620 suddenly quit printing in black. I've done all the things the manual says to do to no avail. It prints color fine but no black prints at all.
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your HP is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: HP is saying it's over 10 years old but I bought it new and I haven't had it that long. It is the Officejet 4620. I don't print a lot but do print at least a page or two every day so the printheads should not be clogged and I don't print so much that it should be worn out.
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: XP PC
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Nothing happened. It just quit printing black. It wasn't like it got duller and duller. Just no black.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I don't guess so.
