fresh cartridge fitted but not recognised in status view, still shows empty.
JA: What's the make/model number of your printer? How old is it?
Customer: i9550 9 years not much used
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC Windows 10
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: about one week printer not used for one month
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?

Please remove the cartridge and make sure all of the tape is removed from the cartridge. A lot of times, a piece of tape or wrapping is still on the cartridge and it will cause the printer to not recognize that the cartridge was inserted.

Please let me know if there was tape on the cartridge - Also, sometimes removing and inserting the cartridge again will fix the issue. Please let me know the result

have checked and all ok tried 2 new cartridges same result

Unplug the printer from the wall outlet then wait 1 minute.

Plug in the printer and power on the printer then wait another minute.

Check to see if the issue continues.
