JA: What is the exact make and model of your printer? And what kind of cartridges are you using?

Any idea on why it doesnt recognize the cartridge as being compatible?

Sometimes the metal contacts on the ink cartridge and inside holder become dirty.

First, remove all ink cartridges and then clean the metal contacts on the ink cartridge using a cotton swab or paper towel.

Then, clean the inside part of the ink cartridge holder as well.

The ink cartridges may be defective. Try new ink cartridges and return the existing ones if possible.

Make sure you have the correct ink number as well.
