Ink light and paper eject lights are blinking; no power

Customer Question

Ink light and paper eject lights are blinking; no power light on.
JA: What's the exact make and model of your printer, and can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: Epson Stylus Photo R2000. Less than a year old.
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC. Windows XP (!)
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: About a month. We had an a/c leak above the printer and some water may have entered.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Hi, I'm Nathan.

Are those paper and ink lights blinking simultaneously, or alternating?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
simultaneously

Thank you for confirming,

that is an error code indicating a defective printhead and/or logic board.

Since there was a potential water leak that is the likely cause of this, as it would not normally happen on a printer this new just from wear.

If there is external causes of damage to the printer, that typically is not covered under warranty, however since the printer is less than a year old I would still recommend checking with Epson to see if they will warranty the printer for you, by calling(###) ###-####and mention the simultaneous lights so they understand what part has failed.

If you strike out with them, let me know and I'll advise further on other options for you.

Best regards, ***** ***** for the news,

Nathan
