I have a Color LaserJet Enterprise M651 printer. I came in this morning and it is giving me a error message: Supply memory error - unable to read yellow cartridge data. We have removed the cartridge three times, and turned the machine off two. Still gives messages. Any ideas?
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your LaserJet is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: I purchased it May 1, 2015, and have had the fuser kit replaced shortly after purchase. No more problems since then until today.
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: No forewarning. Someone tried to print something and it never printed. There are 3 of us who print to this printer. One girl said she just got a message that said her print job would be saved, that the printer was reserved.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?

From what i am most likely have a failed ink cartridge.

I suggest replacing them all......and making sure you remove the packaging tape, that comes on the ink cartridges.

The reason you get the error, is because the printer can no longer communicate with the ink cartridge.

In 9 out of 10 cases, the ink cartridge needs to be replaced.

But in some rare cases, the printer needs to be serviced.

I suggest a new ink cartridge before you take the printer in for service.

Thats all that can be found on this error message.
