How do I get my HP officeject 8600 to scan in legal
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your OfficeJet is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: Pro 8600 Bought last year
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC Windows 7
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: Since I got it.

- For scanning in legal size:

  1. Open the HP Officejet 8600 series program icon on your Desktop screen
    ; (Or click on Start > All programs > HP .... / HP Officejet... (or HP Scan)
  2. Then click on the option Scan (Document or Picture), if needed.
    - This will show the scanning dialog window.
  3. On the right, you should see the Scan Size option (or Page Size option). You can click on the dropdown list below it, select the Legal size option.
    ; (If needed, you may need to click on the Advanced settings option first.)
    ; (If needed, you can select Custom... option for the Size option. Then set the size numbers you want; for Legal, the size is 8.50 x 14.00 in.
  4. Then click on Scan. That should work.

- For copying in legal size:

  1. Select the Copy option on the printer's screen.
  2. Select Settings option.
  3. Scroll down (hit the down arrow button), then select the setting Paper Size.
  4. Then select option Legal (scroll first as needed.)
  5. Then Copy
