I can't get it to scan, NX230 - a couple of years old,

Customer Question

I can't get it to scan
JA: What is the machine's exact make and model? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: NX230 - a couple of years old
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: MacBook Pro
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: I don't really know. I have scanned, like in July. I had some issues and was on the phone w/Apple for like 2 hours getting everything "fixed" in September.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Can't think of anything . . . .

I did everything, but when I added my printer it didn't add the option to scan, just "Open Print Queue." I lost the scan tab!?!?
