If not, connect your computer directly to the scanner using a USB cable. Both should auto detect. Let me know when you have done that please.

i do have the computer and copier connected and functioning for other tasks.

Once you have made the switch, select Computer as the scan type as it appears in the display of the scanner. Once that has been selected, specify the scan settings of your choice. Press OK to start.
