Customer Question

I have the All in one printer, scanner, fax HP Officejet 6600.
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your OfficeJet is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: Purchased 3/24/13.
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: PC, Windows 7
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: When I try to copy or scan, the document is not being pulled in. Motor is trying to pull in and just makes clicking sound.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

Unfortunately, the clicking sound you are hearing is a broken gear. They are made of hard plastic and break over time.

The only way to fix it would be to replace the gear which would require a printer service technician since it's hard to get to and remove.

However, it will cost about the same as a new printer and you can get one that is under warranty. I would suggest that route instead.
