I see that you are having problems scanning! I can imagine how frustrated you are right now, but never fear! I will do what I can to help you resolve this!
Your Windows Image Acquisition may be disabled, so let's see if we need to re-enable it.
1. Click on start or the Window thingy.2. Type Services or Services.msc in the search part.3. Now scroll to the following services in the window that got opened.
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
DCOM Server Process LauncherRPC Endpoint MapperShell Hardware Detection
Enable those services. To do so right click on them, click properties and make it automatic. Once you enable all of them start them. After all the services are started scroll for "Windows Image Acquisition" make this automatic too and start it.
Reboot your computer, and then try to scan once more.
Also, I would suggest to leave your printer unplugged from power for 10 minutes. This will clear any static in the machine and will also reset the unit. THEN, I would plug it back in and try to scan.
