The print cartridge door to my HP3055 is jammed and will not

Customer Question

The print cartridge door to my HP3055 is jammed and will not open.
JA: What's the make/model number of your printer? How old is it?
Customer: HP laser Jet 3055 about 8 or 9 years old
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: pc windows 10
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: I was changing the print cartridge and apparently the cartridge did not fit properly. I discovered this after closing the print cartridge door, which will no longer open.
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: The right side of the door seems to release when the button to open the door is pressed but the right side does not.

Hello! My name is ***** ***** I will be assisting you today.

It sounds like the left hinge on the door has something blocking it or stuck in it.

The only thing at this point that will open it is going to be brute force (not really).

Gently, but forcibly, get the left hand of this door open and see if there is anything in the hinge. If it has been giving you problems recently, you can always put a little WD-40 on a q-tip and apply it to the hinge.

Give it a try and let me know what happens.
