how is the printer connected to the computer and what is the operating system on the computer?
remote assistance is an option by not a compulsion.
so you are not using any computer to print on the printer is that correct?
The problem is with ipad is that correct?

Unfortunately the printer itself is not airprint ready
that means you cannnot use either the lexmark print app or airprint app to do printing from ipad
click here to see the list of supported models from which ipad printing can be done
in this case you may use the printing for printing from a computer but not from a tablet or smartphone
i hope you understand that this is a limitation from the manufacturer itself.
you can email the document you want to print to your own email and then access the email from a computer and print but direct printing between ipad and pro901 will not be possible
