We can reset your printing system and see if it works or not

  1. Go to System Preferences from the Apple menu or from the Dock.
  2. Open Printers and Scanners or Print and Scan
  3. Hold down control and click (or Right click) on list of printers on the left side of the window, then choose "Reset printing system" from the contextual menu (or hold down Option key and click - button at bottom left and click Reset Printing System)

After resetting,your Printer will disappear from the list. So turn off the printer and unplug it for 2 minutes. Then connect it back. Then disconnect the USB and this time connect it to different USB port of your Mac. Click the + button on Mac (in left corner, in Printers and Scanners) and add it back.

Not able to type in printer model also i mac has only 1 usb port.

You don't need type in the model. It is supposed to recognized automatically. Did you reset the printing system ?

If so, disconnect the printer (USB) and reconnect it back. Does it recognize the printer ?

The previous printer was just a entry there. If the printer is communicating with your computer, then it will be added automatically there.

Are you able to make copies from the printer itself, without using Mac ?

Printer is not recognize my printer --- it copies ,though it is low on ink.

Have you tried restarting your Mac ?

It is possible that the issue is related to the cable. Can you get another USB cable and test with it ?

Also, try connecting the printer to your WiFi network and see if your Mac can recognize it.

1 . Press the home button on printer.
2. Press the left or right arrow buttons to select Wi-Fi Setup and press the OK button.

3. Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the onscreen instructions to connect

Once you are connected to the WiFi network, then on Mac, go to System Preferences > Printers and Scanners. Then click + button and add your printer. Does it recognize it ?
