I think I have installed the paper correctly according to the instructions.

Okay,

Remove the input paper supply,

Slide the paper guides to the center then back out, fan the front edge of the paper stack, and replace the paper supply.

Then reset the machine:
unplug power at the wall outlet
wait 5 minutes
press and hold the power/on button for 60+ seconds
keep holding while plugging back in, and for another 60 seconds after, then release

I omitted the word "source" between paper and setting when I described the error message. Sorry I'm a techno cave man.

Hello, sorry for missing you earlier, sometimes the multiple replies can get lost in the queue and I just now am seeing them.

So pull the tray out once, push back in, and on screen it should ask you to verify what paper is in the tray and you'll pick letter (8.5x11), plain.
