Hi,

I'm sorry about the issue. Can you please try the following for fixing your HP Officejet 6500A printer:

Solution #1:

- Disconnect the power cord(s) from your internet modem / router device(s) for about 2 minutes, then re-connect

, turn off printer, then disconnect power cord from printer for about a minute, then re-connect, then turn on

, wait a bit, then check printing.

Solution #2:

- If that does not work, please try:

1. Press Wireless button / icon on printer to check the IP Address number.
2. Open the program icon "Printer - Update IP Address" on your computer's Desktop screen.
3. Enter the new IP address of the printer.
4. Click on Save.
5. Print something, and check.

Solution #3:

- Note: If you do not see an IP Address number in the Solution #2 above, then please try the following:

  1. On the printer , touch the Right Arrow button, and then touch option Network.

  2. Touch Wireless, then touch Wireless Setup Wizard, and then touch OK.

  3. Touch your wi-fi / wireless network name.

  4. If prompted, enter your wi-fi/ wireless password ***** key / passphrase (it is case-sensitive.)

  5. Touch Done and OK.

  6. Once that is successful, please try Solution #2 above again.

I have tried all 3.. Sorry for the delay. Nothing. Even the test page prints but with no ink. I have checked the ink levels in printer and they are good. But when I try to print a document that I truly need right now. It's says printing offline. When I right click it does not have a check mark next to working offline. I have rebooted several times both PC and printer. Suggestions

Sorry, if you put a document or photo faced down on on the printer's glass, then press the Copy button / icon on the printer, then does it make a copy fine or not? Thank you,

Completed. 1st page color good extensive sweep not so good. When I try to print a document it does not even spool and it shows printing offline

Great. Please open Control Panel on the computer

; (if needed, press at the same time the two keys Windows and R on the keyboard, then type control then click OK, then the Control Panel window will open.)

, then open Hardware and Sound / Devices and Printers

, then there, right-click on the HP printer and remove / delete it for now and confirm

, make sure printer is powered on.

, connect printer's USB cable from printer to computer.

, wait a bit, and the printer should automatically be reinstalled

, check printing.

Any USB port should work.

Make sure the printer's USB cable is pushed all the way in both printer and laptop.

Please connect the printer's USB cable to another USB port on the other side of the laptop, if available

, then see if the printer gets installed.

That's strange. In Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound / Devices and Printers, right-click on the Fax HP item, then select option Set as default printer, then click on the regular HP printer, if shown, then print and check. Thank you,

There are two ports on back of printer. One is open one has a yellow cover. I put cord in open and it automatically selects fax even though I right click and select regular as default

The USB printer can only fit one correct port on the printer.

When you print something, at the print dialog window, click on the printer dropdown list, then select the regular hp printer if shown (not fax), then print and check.

So you were able to delete all fax and hp printer, then when you reconnected the printer to the computer, it installed the printer automatically, but it still cannot print. Does it give error? Or does it print blank or print badly?

1. Remove the USB printer cable.

2. Delete all fax and HP items in Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound / Devices and Printers.

3. Open the HP Officejet 6500 on your desktop screen

- It should ask you to set up a new device/rpinter

4. Select Wireless option.

5. If prompted, select the option that wireless light is green / okay.

6. Enter printer's IP Address when prompted and continue.

7. Print something and check.
