It is not working when I try to use it it give an error.
JA: What's the make/model number of your printer? How old is it?
Customer: it is a hp laser jet 4200/4300 I have had it for about 5 years.
JA: What kind of computer are you printing from (Mac or PC)? What Operating System (OS) are you running?
Customer: hp pavilion with microsoft 10
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: for about 6 mos
JA: Anything else you want the printer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: it is connected as a printer for more than one computer. it just don't work with this one.

What is the specific error code/number you're getting?

Are you saying that you can fix my problem remotely, For an additional $39.00? The problem I have with that is that You have not given me an answer on the question yet so i don't know If i want to pay an additonal $39.00

You are seeing an automated ad, I would not offer or accept a remote session at this point as a remote session may not be possible to fix this until I get more information. I asked you for some follow up info I need first: What is the specific error code/number you are getting?

Printer is in an error state. That is all it says

So that is on the computer, what do you see on the actual printer?

nothing. It is as if the signal never got to the printer.

So it is working from other computers though, correct?

Is it connected to the network via ethernet?

Okay that is something I could do for you remotely if you prefer.

If you want to do it yourself, go turn the printer off, and back on.

Then go into your computer's Devices/Printers folder, select the HP, then remove device.

Reboot the computer, (bookmark this page first so you can get back to me)

when it comes back on, click here:

then download and install the latest drivers to reinstall the printer (choosing it as a network printer) and it should work from that point.
