Hi, I'm Sadique. Welcome to JustAnswer. I'm reviewing your question now, and will post back with your reply ASAP.
Did you see a message on your printer panel that your ink is expended?
Or, you're trying to replace the ink cartridge without seeing the message.
Follow the steps below:Press the up or down arrow button on your printer to select Setup and press the OK button. Then select Maintenance > Ink Cartridge Replacement and press one of the Start buttons. Then lift up the scanner unit.
Tell me if it makes any difference.
Try manually moving the print head carriage.
Don't apply too much force.
I assume the printer is ON when you lift the scanner unit.
It verifies the print head carriage has jammed.
Some foreign particle might be present or some internal parts might have dislodged.
The printer needs to be disassembled and diagnosed thoroughly.
How old is your printer?
In that case I would suggest you not to spend any of your time trying to figure out what exactly is wrong with the unit because Epson will replace your unit Free of cost as its under warranty.
You can call your dealer or directly Epson to claim your warranty.
Please let me know if you need Epson contact number.
