I have a canon 3100 that is showing a error code of 5802 and I can clear it.

Can you please remove the power to the printer (so unplug it from the power socket).

Then wait 10 minutes, connect the power again to the printer, turn it on and tell me please if it is now operating correctly.

no that did not fix, the yellow triangle is flashing and the counter is showing p07

Unplug power and USB
Open door and hold power button.
Connect power.
Close door, then release power button
Connect USB and an press power to use.

Does this then clear the error?

ok, can you please attempt the following to reset it

Press the power button to turn off the printer.

Hold the "Stop/Reset" button while pushing the power button. While still holding down the power button, release the "Stop/Reset" button and then push it twice in a row.

Wait approximately 20 to 30 seconds until the LED shows 0.

Push the "Stop/Reset" button four times in a row.

Push the power button twice.

Turn off the printer by pushing the power button one more time. The printer is now reset. Next comes resetting the counter on the cartridge.

Unplug the power and the USB cables from the printer.

Open the cartridge door and hold down the power button.

Reconnect the power cables while still holding down the power button.

Close the cartridge door and release the power button. The ink cartridge is now reset.

Does this then clear it?

IS THE POWER BOTTON TO BE HELD OR RELEASED? I'VE TRYED BOTH WAYS AND DON'T GET THE ED TO SHOW 0.Wait approximately 20 to 30 seconds until the LED shows 0

the power button needs to be held.

But still the same error?

I 've got the same error never got the LED to show 0 the printer did go through what sounded like a reset but came back with the same code.

Run “service_tool 1050.exe”.
Confirm detected USB-port numbers on USB port column.
Click “Main button” on Clear ink counter section. Make sure there are papers in the paper feed because the printer will print after the process is complete.
Click “platen button” on the “Clear ink counter” section. The printer will print again.
Turn off the printer and then turn the printer on.

Does this then clear the error?
