Hi, thank you for contacting JustAnswer.com. My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

Is it possible that the battery or batteries in the safe have gotten weak?

Have you tried - if you entered a partial combination code before the red light turned off - the partial combination code you did enter?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
the batteries could possibly be weak.but I don't think so. now the partial combination is a possible. but the directions said if the red light turns off, to start over. so thats what I did
Expert:  Russell H. replied 10 months ago.

Try entering the partial combination or whatever you did enter.

now that I dont remember, the safe is in another building about 100 yds away
Expert:  Russell H. replied 10 months ago.

Have you tried the

1111

or

11111

default codes?

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
just dial them in?
Expert:  Russell H. replied 10 months ago.

Yes - one at a time. To try to open it.

ok be back soon
Expert:  Russell H. replied 10 months ago.

OK.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
no it does not open
Expert:  Russell H. replied 10 months ago.

Then I do not know what else to suggest, short of the combination being re-entered or re-set at a value that you will not forget or will note down, or the safe being broken open. I have Opted Out, in case another Expert has more ideas about this case.

what I did notice was thar the red light kinda pauses when a key no is pushed

If you give the serial number to the dealer that you bought it from they will get an override combination specifically for that safe from the manufacturer
