Please tell me if this happened after you scanned or copied a document or did it just error out on its own?
I have seen this happen sometimes if the scanning cover, or lid hinges become loose from opening and closing etc.. I would like to have you try and tighten the cover hinges. There is a sensor that is within the lid that can cause this and often by tightening it back up can fix this issue. Please attempt this and get back to me with the results.
Oh, and do it with all the power and other cables disconnected from the printer.
So after you attempted to tighten the screws on the scanner lid your getting another error?
I guess I am confused. So the printer works fine, just the scanner is not working at all with error messages about the lid, and now saying scanner unavailable?
Are you trying to print from a usb drive or flash drive connected to the printer or is it a scanning issue?
