Have new HP OfficeJet Pro 8710. Have wireless connection to printer. Cannot set up or send scanned documents.

Just so i understand your question.


YOu want to use the HP OfficeJet 8710 to SCAN a document? Is that correct?

This officejet 8710 has 2 options for scanning.

YOu can SCAN to a Network Folder (complex in setup)


You can SCAN to an Email (simple in setup)


Either way, the printer MUST have a connection to the internet.


To SCAN to Email:

  1. Load your original print-side down on the scanner glass or print-side up in the document feeder. For more information, see Load an original on the scanner glass or Load an original in the document feeder.
  2. Touch Scan, and then Touch Email.
  3. On the Control panel Display, select the name that corresponds to the ORIGINAL Email profile you want to use.
  4. If Prompted, enter the PIN.
  5. Select the TO Email address (the email recip[ient, YOUR email) or enter an email address.
  6. Enter or change the Subject for the Email message
  7. Change any scan settings,m and then touch START SCAN
