Hi! My name is***** sounds as though the switch may have gotten stuck. If you get a pin or a paper clip, the switch is on the right side of the door. It's a minor inconvenience but if the printer works otherwise, you will only have to do that when you change the ink.

If you open the front part of the printer, you'll see the ink cartridges and other components on the inside. The switch is on the right hand side. It will be a little pin hole.
If you haven't opened this part of the printer, I would firmly shut it and try to see if it works. THEN, if it doesn't, use the pin or paper clip to manually press the switch.
