Hi! My name is ***** ***** I'm happy to help!
Are you getting an error on the computer or the printer?
What is displayed on the printer screen when you try to copy or print?
Unplug the printer and hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Afterward, plug the printer up again and turn it on. Does it look normal? Does anything appear on the screen?
Are you trying to print from a computer? If so, can you check and see if the printer can make a copy on its own without using the computer?
If you open the printer, do the cartridges move to the middle where you can take them out?
Ok, last question. Can you scan the picture onto your computer?
Hmm...this is unfortunate. While there are many troubleshooting techniques for a printer that won't print, there isn't really anything to try to troubleshoot the scanner as all the parts are internal. If powering off and on doesn't fix it, which it hasn't, there isn't anything else to try yourself. How old is the unit?
If it doesn't even to attempt to scan, if you don't hear it trying to scan, it's probably the scanning motor. This would be too costly to replace. You can get a new Canon for around 94 dollars, found here: http://amzn.to/2a8uoVO
I'm an Epson fan, compare your experience to Canon with this: http://amzn.to/29SoQzR
